Hi All

We have a booking for the Bank Holiday Monday in the grounds of Newark Castle. Bad news Sandra and I will be on Holiday so we need as many SFers as possible to run the have-a-go session. Does anyone apart from Sandra and myself have a CRB check? I am hoping Ed might be willing to run the show as he is local to Newark. I will ask Malcolm if he will attend and carry out the risk assessment.

Ed has volunteered to co-ordinate the have-a-go event, his partner Lyndsay will be acting CPO . Malcolm has agreed to be Field Captain for the event.

Caroles got the bank hol to work but I am OFF,I also have up to date CRB checks, have to, goes with the job,so hopefully see you there at 10 ish also what equipment will we need on the day?bows,targets,tape,stakes and such like,maybe we can discuss the logistics next saturday or over the phone?

Hi Gary,
Sorry for not spotting this before. I've got the bows and arrows that we need for it. As Peter mentioned I am really local so I've been sorting things out with the people running it. I can't make shooting on Saturday unfortunately, however I will be borrow Lyndsay's car on Sunday and bringing down the rest of the stuff.

I'm waiting on some more information from the people running the whole event, and I'll probably start another thread tonight or tomorrow with more information.

Rather than start a new thread I'll just put some information in here.

I'm still waiting on information regarding Free Car Parking from the organiser. However the nearest car park is at Tolney Lane, details can be found here http://www.newark-sherwooddc.gov.uk//pp ... sp?id=1890

We have been asked to show people how to shoot from 11:00 - 17:00, I'll be getting there for 10:00 to get things set up. As I mentioned above I'll be taking the rest of the equipment that we need down on Sunday.

Photos are brill thanks for posting them. Sandra and I are back from our hols. Mega thanks to everyone who supported the SFers with the Have a Go at the Castle. Ed says it went well and we might well be invited back to Clipstone if the event goes ahead.
