Presentation of Longbows to Barlborough Hall School

Postby archery » Thu Oct 27, 2011 8:28 am

As you all know the school has an archery club.

Sandra and I and Pip Bickerstaffe have decided to donate six longbows to the school. Pip has very kindly made the bows nearly all at his own expense. We feel this will help foster the traditional archery approach.

Sherwood Forresters is supplying 6 sets of six arrows to match the bows.

Just at the right time it turns out as the school was looking to bring in some new archery equipment.

The English Longbows are traditional and Dave Wilson, the Deputy Head and archery teacher is looking forward to accepting the bows and arrows.

We will present the equipment at 2.00 pm at the School on Friday 11th of November.

All SFers are most welcome to be present, take part and enjoy.

Please let me know if you can attend.

An extra note. We will be at the school for an hour and a half or so and it looks like we will be shooting alongside kids too....so the more the merrier and bring your bows.

Well that is four of us, good on you Mick, can we make it the Magnificent Seven? Or should that be the Munificent Seven? :)

Chris: There's a job for six men, watching over a village, south of the border.
O'Reilly: How big's the opposition?
Chris: Thirty guns.
O'Reilly: I admire your notion of fair odds, mister.

Hello All

Unfortunately, as it's in term time I am unable to attend. :(

Have a good day and I hope the sun will shine, or at least have fine day :)
